The lemonade you have been enjoying in our cafe can now be sipped in your own home...

1 cup sugar
2 cups water
1 cup fresh basil leaves roughly chopped

Combine sugar and water in saucepan over medium high heat.
Without stirring, bring to boil.
Boil for 3-5 minutes~ sugar completely dissolved & slightly thickened.
Turn off heat.
Throw basil leaves in simple syrup.
Allow to cool to room temperature.
Strain liquid & discard leaves.
You now have basil syrup.
This can be kept covered in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
